Dusk kept walking through the forest. Hoping to come across someone soon. He didn't know where the forest ended. He had been going for weeks but it felt like years. He had on some cheap, dirty, ripped-up shorts. He had a metal collar around his neck. Attached to the loop was a few links of chain. He leaned against a tree for a moment. The sun beat down on the canopy of the forest. He knew he couldn't stop. He had to remain determined. He pushed off the tree and continued. The heat was getting to him. His legs screamed at him to stop. He saw the edge of the forest and his head cried for joy. But by the time he reached the tree line, his legs suddenly suck down and he fell forward with a thud. He grunted and looked to see a town. He tried to call out but his voice was to rasped, it only sounded like a harsh breath. He let his head fall and preyed, that either someone would find him, or that he could eventually summon the energy to get his legs working again.

At this time, Gyldan walked a forest unknown to him, he didn't know how far he had traveled, or where he was traveling to, but he was glad to be where he was. He looked up at the forest canopy with the sun's light peaking through the surface and reflecting off of his fur. Gyldan enjoyed the heat as he never experianced much of it where he was from. Then suddenly his ears perked up and he heard quick footsteps off in the distance. He looked around to see if anyone was in sight, but could see nothing with the wall of trees surrounding him. He began to run toward the sound, following what he could hear and hoping to cross paths with whoever it might've been.... But soon the sound discontinued, Gyldan stopped and looked around the bushes and trees until he spotted what seemed to be a small being lying on the ground in a large clearing. Instantly he ran over to the boy's aid, lightly grabbing him by the shoulder and turning him on his back.

"Are you alright?!" said Gyldan, in a worried tone.

He could hear the boy's heavy breathing, and without waiting for a response, he picked him up and set him against a well shaded tree. Gyldan sat down with him and patiently waited for a response.

Dusk's eyes went wide when he heard footsteps. He heard that it had two legs. In his head. He feared that the slave traders or slave hunters had been following all along. Now they had come to take him back and probly whip and beat him to an inch of his life for running away. He shut his eyes tight. He begged his legs to work but they wouldn't listen. By the time the other got to his side, he had accepted it and waited to be grug off. As he was turned over to his back he looked up at him. His vision was blurry and his hearing didn't do any better. He sounded like he was a hundred yards away when he asked the question. He was a little surprise when he was gently picked up and when they stopped he tried to regain his thoughts. He felt like he couldn't talk much, so he had to make sure what he said was quick, to the point, and important.

"Don't...hurt...me", he said, weakly.

Gyldan heard the boy speak in a weak tone and knew he needed water. He drew his water flask that was hanging at his side and attempted to help the boy drink from it, then set it by the boy's side

"No one's going to hurt you..." Gyldan said while looking around at their surroundings, then back to the boy.

He noticed the boy looked like he had been out here a while, he wasn't well dressed and didn't look well taken care of. Gyldan unstrapped his sword and sheath and set it next to him, he knew they would most likely be there a while.

"So where might you be going? It seems you have ran your self out..."

At this point he noticed the metal collar with the broken chain...

"...What's this?.." he said in a quiet tone.

Dusk's mind only wanted to move if it ment getting energy. So when he saw the water flask he drank heavily as he was helped with it. This helped him. He still lay there though. He saw him start to ask something. She he felt a hand on the collar. Tears welled up.

"I ran. They were mean. I wouldn't have. But there were mean", he said.

He was still haveing a hard time talking. His body needed food. He had a hard time getting food in the forest. Water usually wasn't a problem. He looked up at the man. He didn't seem like he was gonna hurt him. In fact it looked like he wanted to help. He thought clearly now and ave a straight answer.

"It's a collar. It...the chain broke, so I ran", he said. A little more strenght coming to his voice.

(I hope you don't mind my joining you guys?)

Toyomi had never been to Domus before, but the forest itself that he was walking in carried a romantic air to it. He sighed in contentment, but then noticed something ahead in the trees. Two figures, one on the ground and the other kneeling next to it. He silently made his way through the brush to where they were. A child and a husky were there, and the child looked extremely malnourished. A runaway slave, no doubt, he thought. "Excuse me!" he called out, so as to not startle them as he made his way toward them. When he saw the child up close, he had a bit of a shock. He addressed the husky, "I apologize, but I'm assuming you've just found this child? He looks quite malnourished." Toyomi pulled a ration from his pack to give the boy without waiting for a response. "Here..."

(( yay more RP! Very Happy ))

Gyldan's ears perked up as he heard someone call out to them, and insantly turned his attention to whomever it might be. He slowly reached for his sword, but not in a manner to produce any threat, but seemed to be a little bit more eased up when he saw that this person ment no ill will.

"Yes, I did indeed, he was lying face down in a small clearing when I came to his aid... He appears to be a slave of some sort..judging from the little information he gave me.. And as you can see, he has a metal collar around his neck..." "

Gyldan paused for a moment...

"I have got to get it off, but it seems to be a blacksmiths job, and I've never walked these lands, I have no idea where I'm at... I assume you might..?"

Toyomi half-smiled at the husky, seeing that he meant no harm. "You're lucky that the town of Rennes is nearby. They have some decent blacksmiths there, and currently they've got my rapier in for some work." He turned his attention back to the yellow fur. "In any case, he needs a little time to recover. There's a clearing off the road we can take him to, since it looks as if he's been running from someone. It's not too far from here if you think you could possibly carry him..."

Gyldan strapped his sword to his back, and put the water flask's strap around the boy, then began to gently pick up the boy.

"Show me the way." Gyldan said as he follow the fox to their unknown destination.

A moment later of short traveling, and they arrive at said clearing. Gyldan set the boy down under the nearest, and most comfortable looking tree. He checked to make sure the boy was already and then turned his attention back to the fox...

"Where is this town? And how far out are we from it? Because we need to get there soon.." Gyldan said after looking back at the boy.

"Well," Toyomi said, still surprised as to how quickly he was able to keep up, "As it turns out, this forest is actually about a mile or two away from Rennes. These forests are few and far between here in Domus, so we'd need to be able to protect this kid from any possible attacks by his owners. I never really liked the slave trade, y'know... It does things to people." He thought back to some friends he'd made over the years and shuddered at how they were when they first met. "Anyway, let me get something started since my pack and stuff are here." He went over to the tent that was partly hidden in the foilage and pulled out his wares to make a stew that would help the boy recover his strength. "By the way, my name's Toyomi. I'm a spy-for-hire, but currently I'm between jobs, enjoying my travels. And you are...?"

(Well...Not really sure I should start out with this character, but anyway! Hope you don't mind me joining)

"Hmm....which one should I start with?", said the young mage, with two books on each hand. He looked at them, wondering which one was more powerful. "Maybe...this one!", he said and dropped the book on his left hand on the ground and passed the book from his right hand to his left. He then closed his eyes and let the information pass by his mind. This power of reading something just by touching it was still unknown to him, but it was useful if he needed to battle with someone, especially if he was surprised. Though the knowledge would wipe out as soon as he let go of the book, it was interesting so see what kind of magic that tome contained within it.

"Okay...here goes", he said and rose his right hand and, after a few minutes, a small light appeared on the tip of his pointer finger. He then moved it a bit down, aiming at a tree. The light seemed to grow bigger as Lennard chanted some words and, with the charge finished, he let the bolt go. It formed a small ice spear that hit the tree and got stuck into it. "Nice...I wonder if I can charge more at the same time...", He said smiling.

Gyldan frowned when heard of the distance the town was from their location, but that wouldn't be enough to make his heart heavy.

"My name is Gyldan Akira... I am a loner in these lands unknown to me.." Gyldan said after lightly bowing his head in respect. "It is a good thing you crossed paths with us... as I probably would not have been able to help the boy as much as he needs it, I thank you for your aid. And if it is protection from his owners that he needs, that is one thing I can provide. Where I was from, slavery was a crime that resulted in execution.. it should not be tollerated."

Gyldan unstrapped his sword and sheath and walked back to the boy. He set it against the tree and sat down next to the him. Then suddenly his ears perked up, and he heard the sound of something striking wood from a short distance. He grabbed his sword and looked at Toyomi.. "Did you hear that? Stay here... I should return shortly.."

( Perfect place to start out with this character! )

Now Lennard was curious about the other book's power... he let go of the one he was holding, in turn losing all the knowledge he had about that book, and grabbed the other from the ground. The same thing happened again and he knew everything that was in the book. He moved his hand in a circle-like movement and flames sprouted from his hand. He slashed the air horizontally and a fireball flew through the air, hitting a stone.

"Nice! I wish I could keep this knowledge forever, though...guess I'll need to do some reading", he said and walked towards a tree, then sat down. "...and why am I talking to myself lately? Sigh...", he said and started reading.

Gyldan, having traveled a little bit away from the campsite, watched the magic using being from a concealed mass of bushes. Thoughts went through his mind at a rapid pace... he did not know if this might have one of the slavers... Soon after a while, he walked through the bushes toward the being with his white steel sword in hand, he planted his sword into the ground in an unthreatening manner and spoke...

"Who are you? And what is your buisness in this particular part of the woods?" Gyldan said in a neutral tone.

Lennard was reading his book calmly. The warmth of the forest and a small breeze was all he needed to stay concentrated on the pages of the book. But then he heard footsteps and a voice right after that. '...who's there?...', he thought while slowly moving his hand next to the stone on his waist. Then he moved his head towards the voice while getting up slowly. "Um...hi?", he wiped off the dirt on his robe, "My name's Lennard... And I thought this spot would be good to practice magic casting", he said keeping some distance between him and the husky.
