Well... I rushed this one for Roderick Fanning, Arlo.
Ritch Eld
Age: (Probably Late) Thirties, Early Forties
Gender: Male
Race: Serval
Height: 6' 1 1/2"
Weight: 130 lb.
Eye Color: Grey
Fur Color: Obsidian Black (Abnormal - He's Melanistic)
Vocation: Scholar/Archaeologist/Treasure Hunter/Explorer/Adventurer
Physical Appearance: Very skinny, a feature which is exaggerated by his height. As is usual with his species, he had a long neck, which does nothing to make him appear less thin. He almost looks like a caricature than a normal being, given his height and thin personage. Serving in the military, however, hardened his body, so he is not quite as weak as on would first be lead to believe.
Personality: Ritch is exceedingly proud of himself, possibly rightfully so, and does not believe he can make a mistake. He seldom does, in any case.
He is eccentric, to make matters worse, and as such, everything he does strangely is naturally the way this should and ought to be done - much to the extreme annoyance of most around him. He regards people around him as nuisances who don't know much - but if they actually give him good advice, tries to deflect and weasel his way out of being topped in any way possible, and he is quite good at it. He is exceedingly intelligent, which has done nothing to lessen his considerable ego.
He has a intense curiosity and interest in ancient, old, and otherwise dusty things. It is not so much the promise of gold that lures him, but the excitment and fame that go with discovering something truly ancient.
Biography: First thing that is known about him is that he joined the Edwinian military as an officer, serving for several years. He was uncerimoniously discharged for little reason. (This was actually later revealed to be during a purge in the upper ranks around Ritch due to a conpiracy he was not involved in... supposedly.) After that, he attended multiple universities with the drive to become a great historian. He eventually did, becoming a very renown and sought after authority on the subject. He taught between archaeological digs and his personal research for quite some time. After about twelve years of that, however, he went out traveling full time, to see the world.
Weapons: He has a snubnose revolver he makes use of when the occasion demands.
Typical Clothes: Wherever he goes, except if he is attempting to remain incognito or if he is in disguise, Ritch attempts to wear a trim suit that would be at home in some of Edwin's higher businesses. He almost always - except in hot climates - wears a long coat over the suit, which is also a throwback to the time he spent in cold, foggy Nottingham. Underneath, he carries his revolver, along with several tools he often makes use of in his field.
Magic: Ritch can only use mundane, subtle types of magic - sensing, tracking and feeling, and does so with a precision and level of skill that comes from about a few months of learning from a native of Piriqui while traveling the land. He doesn't publicize the fact that he knows it, (although his power isn't that great... he mostly knows about magic) but realizes he needs all the help he can while searching for artifacts and knows that there are certain forces greater than those of science.
To think otherwise, with his experience, would be folly.
Other Equipment: He carries around a journal, perpetually writing in it. He also happens to have several trinkets usually in his posession, usually just random and fairly worthless but shiny objects. He know the weak minded can be swayed by the power of shiny.
