Heyas yet another gaming related thread (wow, I typoed that threat Razz)

I recently downloaded Source SDK and Hammer which are used to make maps for hte source engine. So I was wondering if anyone had any experience making maps. Or more for everyone else, do they have a source game that we'd like to have a map for and of what (bearing in mind I'm not very good Razz)

Heh, me again. Very Happy

Yes, I have mapped since 2006, though not as much recently. I've released a couple of maps here and there, but they're several years old by now. Occasionally I get a flash of inspiration, but usually I end up with a backlog of half-finished maps.

Anyway, I wish you good luck with your own creations. If you need anything clarified, I'm sure I can help. Very Happy

I used to map with the Serious Editor [Serious Sam]. It used Constructive Solid Geometry, which made making maps incredibly easy and entertaining, though I wasn't that amazing at it. I remember my maps were fairly creative, lots of hidden entrances, multiple paths, puzzles and such, but visually, even the Nintendo 64 FPS games was more detailed ;~;

I used to mess around with the Unreal editor although I never really got anywhere with it (I lent my book, which was essentially a textbook on the Unreal engine and mapmaker, to a friend and never got it back.)
