Gyldan had just come back and sat down while Toyomi was talking to Dusk. Toyomi was nearly ready to exchange freely with the apparently drunk fur that sat down moments before when Dusk suddenly said, "No!" and then more calmly, "No, Toyomi. I ran from my last master. I know I shouldn't have. But he was mean. I couldn't stay. Even when I did things right he'd punish me. Please, no. Just own me now. Please, I don't want to see him again. He'll take me back and punish me some more! Please, Master Toyomi!"

Dusk was in near tears at this point. Toyomi had to smile sadly at this point. He patted Dusk on the head, and said, "Alright, you're lucky I'm also a part-time thief and know a bit about disguises as well. We'll make sure that your previous owners are convinced that you've disappeared off the face of the planet." He turned back to Gyldan and their new friend, "We'll soon be travelling to the next town. Will you still be coming with us, Gyldan?" He turned to the other fur, "I'm sorry to sober up the situation, but we may need some assistance on our way to the next town. Would you care to come with us until we find a decent tavern you can stop at? I'm Toyomi, this is Gyldan, and this is Dusk, my new servant." He emphasized 'servant' a little more than he intended.

"Aye my name be *burp* Leonel "Gamblin'" Dexler, I be a uhhhh...Pirate yeah dats da word, in search of a crew, as you can see sometimes Im drunk, and I would be happy to join you guys!" Leonel said. (All speeling mistakes in that sentence are meant to be there) Leonal sat up and extended his hand "Pleasure to meet all three of you! I think we should get a move on if you know what I mean!" He said with a big creepy smile on his face. "Come on now let's go!" Leonal said taking another drink from his flask.

"Will you still be coming with us, Gyldan?" He heard Toyomi say. "I will be at your side until we reach the town. It seems I am no longer of use, and the boy has found caring and protective hands, therefore defeating his need for my help. Once we reach the town, I will depart." Gyldan said in response in a quiet tone, he began to stare at the grond, something was on his mind it seemed, but only for a second. He jumped to his feet and looked at everyone. "Well? Shall we be off? "

Didn't even realize when Gyldan returned to camp. He was so bent up about trying to get Toyomi to be his master that he didn't pay any attention. He perked up a little when he said "ok". A smile even came to his face when he said that he would make sure that Dusk "diappeared". His tail was wagging when Toyomi called him his servant. That confirmed it for him. He had a new master, and from what it seemed, he had one that would treat him right.

He finally came back to reality at this point. He heard everyone introduce themselves. He waved when his name was said. He was a little sad to hear the Gyldan wouldn't be staying with them long. He felt he should say something.

"Um....Mr. Gyldan.", he said and approached him, the chain links attached to his collar jingleing until he stopped in front of him. "I want to thank you for finding me.", he said kind of shyly.

Leonal looked curiously at Dusk's collar for a few minutes before suggesting something. "I believe i've seen one of those, like on a few runaway slaves. I believe I know a blacksmith in the next town over that could take it off. Now my memory aint so good of how exactly I met him because I had alot to drink at the time. But I remember him saying he was a blacksmith and if I had any trouble I could talk to him." Leonal said smiling.

As soon as he heard and finsished speaking with whatever Gyldan had to say, he turned his attention to what Leonal said. He shyed and touched his collar.

"Um, that would be great...but only because master Toyomi doesn't have the key for it. Once it's off, I want a new one that master has a key for", he said.

He liked the collar. It let him and reminded him of his place. He had grown used to it over the course of his life and it helped him to know that he had someone to take care of.

He looked to his new master for confirmation. After all it wasn't up to him, but his master.

Toyomi sighed, "Perhaps I ought to straighten out a few details. I'm aware of the blacksmith you're talking about, Leonal, as my rapier is in his clever hands as we speak. As far as getting a new 'collar' is concerned, I have a slightly better idea..." He pulled out a small pin and easily picked the lock on Dusk's collar.

"If we're to travel on open ground, anyone without a physical description will not assume you to be the runaway slave you've become at this point. Once we reach town, we'll work on outfitting you appropriately." He said all of this as he packed up his stuff in no time flat and they began moving toward the edge of the forest. He handed Dusk a spare cloak colored golden-brown to keep him covered, and to give him something he could wear around his neck in the meantime. As he was walking beside Dusk, he put his hand gently on his head, and said, "Also, as your new master, I would appreciate it if you didn't call me 'master', since I would like to become your friend more than anything else. Just 'Toyomi' will do."

Wasn't really sure at what he said. But he was a little glad when his master picked the collar off. It let him brush away the leaves and twigs that had wedged they're way inside it. He put on the cloak and started walking.

"Yes, mas...um, Yes, Toyomi", he said.

He quickly put the temporary collar around his neck. He needed something there to help him know his place and know he had some one to take care of him.

"So...we're getting me a new collar, Toyomi?", he asked. Mainly because he wasn't sure what his master said. He was just confirming. He was also wearing the cloak because his master had told him to. The truth was, he didn't like clothing, he hated hw it felt to his fur. He only wore clothes because of he rules of the land.

Leonal was watching everythign wanting them to hurry up, the quicker they arrive at the town the better. "Hey kid, I'll do whatever I can do to help. You heard me before I hate slavery, if someone comes down here and notices you through that cloak and tries to take you back...i'll cut 'em up!" Leonal said laughing taking out his scimitar in the air and slashing the air, he then bput it back in his hilt. "Unless you don't want me to kill them?"

Dusk looked over to Leonal when he spoke. He smiled when he said he'd help and then flinched a little when he suddenly swung his sword. He heard him and it put him in thought. He kept walking as he answered.

"Um...thank you", he said. "Well, he was mean. I don't want to go back to him. So... I guess it would be ok. But, only if you have to", he said with uncertainty in his voice. He didn't like to talk about killing, no matter who it was. He had never killed anyone before.

Leonal knew from Dusk's voice that the boy didn't like killing. "Well how was he mean to you did he crack the whip keep you up all night? Cause if he did all that to you, a little boy...Well it's just downright wrong. And where exactly does he live, and do you think anybody might be after you?" Leonal asked grinning.

The questions came kinda fast and a scared look came on his face.

"I don't know, I ran for days in the woods. I don't know how far or what direction to start. and there could be people after me, but I don't know. I just assumed there were so ran and didn't stop."

He said. Then he started thinking of his old master. He started to tear up.

"He...he punished me, even when I did things right. I'd do exactly what he'd say and he'd still hurt me. He never praised what I did. He... he... he even...", he looked about ready to say something. But couldn't he now had tears going down his cheeks and his eyes shut tight as his breaths came harshly.

He simply couldn't find a way to take it from his brain to his lips.

"Alright then kiddo." Leonal said with a smile on his face. Whoever his master was sounded evil but he was more worried about one think could the boy be important enough to have someone bring him back to his old master. He didn't know, but he wanted to find out soon enough. "Sorry if I scared you there kiddo, I must've gottten to carried away." Leonal said with a bit of a frown but then took another drink out of his flask. "Nothing better then good ol' rum."

Gyldan stayed silent throughout the entire journey, he stayed in the back of small party and never said a word. He listened intently to the conversations ahead of him, though thoughts of where he would go next and how long in his travels would he not have a companion often clouded his mind. Gyldan was not too worried about it however, his task here was not yet complete.

When Toyomi saw Dusk tearing up, he had to assume the worst had happened. "Don't you worry Dusk, you'll be safe as long as I'm around," he said, taking full responsibility for his care.

...His ears pinpricked, and he heard a rustling from the tall grass that grew around the path for as far as the eye could see. It helped that the path was elevated for travelers' comfort, but made them easier targets if they weren't on guard. He stopped and shoved Dusk away from him in time to catch the arrow aimed at the spot Dusk had been in moments before. His bow was out in a moment and he returned the arrow not so pleasantly to the archer that launched it.

Three masked fighters appeared on the path behind the group, and Toyomi immediately grabbed Dusk, saying "Hold onto me" as he did. He took up a defensive position away from the fighters and kept vigilance to see if any others might try to appear and kidnap Dusk. As expected, one more fighter appeared and received a barrage of arrows from Toyomi as he attempted to kidnap Dusk.

(And enter the fight scene!)
