My alchemist character.
To be used in the Collaborative Writing Role-Play.
Not exclusively, though, as he's my only villain. So far.

(Mingus... doesn't count.)

Norvus (or Norvy, Old Norvy, etcetera...)
Age: Rather old.
Gender: Male.
Race: The Brown Rat.
Height: 5'1."
Eye Color: Greenish Yellow.
Fur Color: Grizzled gray.

Physical Appearance: Norvus is a stooped, grizzeled gray rat with somewhat of a hunch in his back and a - merry, perhaps? malicious, perchance? - twinkle in his eye.

Personality: Norvus may look sinister upon a first glance, but if one talks to him without endangering the rat's life or hobbies, one will soon realize that Norvus is actually quite a nice fellow. He has little sense of humour, except when it comes to eldritch and arcane things such as only alchemists know, as these are the only things he really appreciates. (Refer to the common nerds who laugh at jokes that you have no idea about, probably related to computer games or programming. It's like that.)

Norvus has an insane fixation with his work. He truly enjoys studying, chemistry, and alchemy, and anything related to it. He seldom stops to rest, and he doesn't even seem to need rest while he is working.

On that second observation, one might realize that they like Norvus as an old eccentric hermit of sorts - but if they hang around him long enough to take a third observation, their initial misgivings about him might prove themselves to be quite correct.

Norvus is working towards things that could influence life for the better - medicine, metallurgy, etcetera - and he adheres to an elitist philosphy. He truly believes that the ends justify the means, and will not think twice about harming anyone he deems "common" or beneath him.

"Many will die in the course of life. They will always die, there's always a death, even for me. Sickness, violence, or age will overtake a fur at some time in their life. It is inevitable.

And so, if one dies because of me, what is that loss? For surely he would die without me, though he might lead a futile existence for somewhat longer. It could even be considered a mercy, for his sake.

If he was in my way of bettering life, he is a martyr to be remembered - or a nuisance we are gladly rid of. My research is important, it is vital, and it will usher this world back into the golden age. We are in a dark age at the moment, a dark age I am certain that we can leave behind us.

But there are those who do not understand this.

If any stand in my way, they shall be removed. If any get in my way, I shall not stop to save their lives. Many more will be saved the faster I can complete my goals..... and *that* they do not seem to understand, and they opress me because I wish to conclude my work - for their very sake. And this, they seem not to be able to conprehend.

What's one life for a thousand? For a hundred? For ten?

For two?

It is a gain, I say - a very obvious one. But they do not understand this, for reason I, myself, do not understand.

Despite all this, despite their attempts to stop me, I realize that they don't understand, and to make them understand would be nigh impossible. As such, I, undettered, unfaltering... I shall carry on towards our ancient goal, pitying the very creatures I try to help, as they hinder me in my progress."

Education: Seems to know almost everything there is to know.
Vocation: Alchemist.
Location/Biography: Norvus has origins far past living memory, it would seem. His alchemy has almost definitely extended his lifespan to an indefinite one. And with that life, he does what he has always done - since things went very poorly for him at some point in the past - wandering from location to location, attempting to further his studies in alchemy. Sometimes he's run out of town, sometimes he runs out of a town. Sometimes some would-be-hero ousts him from his laboratory in an area.

He always manages to escape, though, and simply moves to another location to continue his experiments.

Hobbies/Interests: Alchemy and all that entails. He loves to research and study. Very literally, it's his life.

Wears: Gray cloak. Old robes.

Weapons: None.

Magic: No "magic" magic, but he uses alchemy, a more scientific approach to the field of magic. Very very adept at it, and claims he can turn lead into gold.

Religion: Hermetic.
Drinking: Only things related to his study. Which are sometimes alcohol-based, as it's such a good solvent.
Smoking: ... Not tobacco, at least.

This is wonderful, Sade. It's good to see that all of Justin's characters will be safe. Thanks again!
