*NOTE: This age is currently undergoing major revisions. You may still role-play here, but facts will be subject to unpredictable change. Updates will be noted in the Feilan Newspaper as they occur.*

This time period is basically like our modern Earth, so think 21st century Earth while role-playing here. There are televisions, CD players, computers, video games, stereos, cars, skyscrapers, etcetera. This age takes place some one-thousand years after medieval Feila.

The Constitutional Republic of Edwin

Edwin's government has long broken away from the old ideas of a Feudalistic Monarchy, and embraces a Constitutional Republic structure as a multinational state. There are three main branches of government: The legislative branch with a bicameral Congress, an executive branch led by the head of state being the President of Edwin, and a judicial branch headed by the Supreme Court. Several political parties -- Each with their own interpretation of the Constitution -- work to alter the state's political atmosphere.

Edwin is considered to be one of the most wealthy, influential, and powerful territories in the world of Feila. It has strong infrastructure, civil service, business, and industry. The Edwin Armed Forces prove a daunting adversary as the unified military of the state, and there is no legal obligation to enlist unless a conscription is ordered, of which hasn't been done in several decades. Edwin prefers this voluntary method of obtaining personnel, as it maintains a purely professional force. The Edwin Armed Forces consist of an Army, a Navy, and an Air Force.

Edwin's political and cultural atmosphere can be compared to a hybrid of Earth's United States of America with the United Kingdom of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

The Republic of Domus

Domus retains its private demeanor, and entrance to the country is controlled. It is somewhat less industrialized than Edwin, and has managed to retain a good amount of its dignity. Think Earth's France.

The Republic of Maze

Maze has no real reason to protect its borders, as no one wants to go there anyway. The country is still quite riddled with poverty and misfortune. Gangs regularly cause chaos, and crime is common. Many Mazans leave this country for other countries in seek of a better life. It is a newly industrialized region. Think Earth's Mexico, and you get a pretty good image of Maze.

The Socialist Democracy of Gawain

Gawain in modern times may be best described politically as socialist. It is run by a parliament, the elected head of state being the Chancellor of Gawain. Gawain is very environmentally-conscious compared to Edwin, and takes measures such as solar panels lining highways for energy and sound pollution reduction, and an encouragement in alternate energy. Gawain prides itself on its rivers, which are an ever-increasing tourist attraction, along with the extraordinary Gawainian architecture most notably in cathedrals that dot cities. The Armed Forces of Gawain are the Gawainian Army, Navy and Air Force, which rival Edwin in military prowess. The Gawainian demographics show the majority of Gawainian citizens are mustelids, though the country does have steady immigration from Edwin and Domus.

Gawain's cultural atmosphere can be compared to Earth's Germany.

The Dictatorship of Kahun

Kahun is very much like Earth's Arabic countries, and much of it is still heavily controlled by religion and a harsh, unforgiving government. It has the world's most powerful military, though, most often only uses it on itself. The region is divided between a more new-age, liberated way of thinking, and an old fashioned "the biggest gun wins" theory. Dragons are still looked down upon, as the mating between a Reptile and an Avian persists to be considered a forbidden taboo - Reptiles are generally disgusted by the thought of "pitiful savages" like Avian mixing their blood with Reptiles.

The Republic of Yamaha

Yamaha is like one giant explosion of animals, all stacked up on top of each other; very much like Earth's Japan or China. Unlike Edwin, the majority of the woodlands have been preserved. Technology reigns in Yamaha and children are crammed with knowledge. Many factories are located here, and therefore many of the world's goods come from here. If you turn over a toy in Edwin, it will likely read "Made in Yamaha", though, the quality is often cheap and low-grade.

The Wild Piriqui AKA the Territory of the Ravens

Skin Avian tribes do remain somewhat wild in Piriqui (Which is still an overgrown, largely untamed jungle, with much savanna and some deciduous forest), but most foreigners pay them little heed anymore. However, a lot of Skin Avian tribes have been strongly affected by the tourism to their continent, and many can now be seen wearing t-shirts and wrist watches, in addition to factory-made knives and other such tools. Beaked Avian remain elusive, though, many have come down from the Black Mountains and into the forests. Some areas of Piriqui have been somewhat industrialized, though, are still heavily undeveloped. Think Earth's Africa, and Piriqui is somewhat like that.

The Parliamentary Monarchy of the Arctic Islands

Religious turmoil has broken out. Tension between the traditional shamans, missionaries from other countries, and crystal hunters have finally snapped. The few crystal mines left are almost completely depleted. A parliament has been in place for centuries now.

The Oblivion of Magic

These days, magic is viewed as nothing more than a simple fairy tale in most parts of the world, especially in the industrialized regions. However, the tribal Avian of Piriqui still retain some potential in the art.

While true witches and warlocks can be found few and far in-between throughout the globe, it is only in the land of Piriqui that the art of magic still thrives in considerable abundance. The arrival of industrialization and its companion tourism has severely threatened the livelihood of the magical arts in Piriqui, therefore magic is a struggling practice even within the Avian borders. Advanced Southern medicines from Edwin, Domus, and Gawain have transformed many once dignified and private Avian apothecaries into cheap, coin-driven side-shows for travelers and vacationers. In like, the building of new cities - How ever crude - has similarly affected the need for magic, as the cities' walls of protection have drawn away many warriors and broken up many tribes, causing the number of Avian battles to fall, and thus further lowering reliance on magic for healing and fighting.

When true magic is witnessed in Piriqui by skeptics, the acts are passed off as simple tricks that have been "misinterpreted" by the Avian tribes as some actual power, due to the tribal birds' "undeveloped culture".
