Still Here and Not Going Anywhere

After investing over three years of hard work into the World of Feila, I'm not about to watch it go down the drain just because of a little bump in the road. Yes, I said "little" and I mean it. I don't find this current situation any reason to become discouraged, and we still have tons of information stored on WikiFeila and people's computers. It will take some time to restore everything and get the forum to its full force again, but it's not going to take years. Months maybe, hopefully only weeks, but only time will tell. Our host is working hard on restoring Feila and moving us to a more secure server, and I have a ridiculous amount of time to get the forum back up to speed. We are not so easily defeated.

If you'd like information on the setting of the world of Feila, and don't see it reposted in this temporary forum, check out our savior WikiFeila.

Anyway, I just thought I'd create a thread to encourage activity at this temporary forum while we wait for Styx, our host, to get things going again. For more information on the current situation of Feila, be sure to read all of the announcements in the World Court. If you'd like to role-play in the role-playing section while you wait for the real deal to return, feel free to go ahead. No need to let your role-playing skills get rusty in the meantime.

Also, make as many threads as you want. Let's pump this temporary forum full of life, so that it's not an empty and discouraging environment.

On the plus side, I probably will be advertising Feila at some popular furry websites once Styx gets the real deal back on the air. This will give us a major boost to our userbase and even more activity than before. Don't worry, we're far from being finished. I already had plans to expand our advertising campaign, but now the only difference is that I'll have to wait for Styx to move us to the new server.

Feel free to chat in this thread. It's not a stiff, formal announcement or anything.

Now, I don't know much about servers and websites and such but this move...does that mean all our previous posts and RPs and such have been deleted or something?

The forum has already been largely restored. If you will check out some of the threads that have been posted, you will see exact replicas of much of the information on the original forum. We are using the tons of Google caches to restore the forum.

If anyone wants my opinion, I think that we need not to pursuit a total restoration of the forum so badly. Actualy, that would a rebirth could be of great effect over Feila. Putting in simple lines, I think it would be much less painful, and a lot more interesting, to get only what people cares for - Active RPG sessions, for example, and recreate everything else, using what was long lost as a base for a new world.

It doesn't have to be all at once. God, that would take months. What I mean is that we could restore the very basics of the planet and take advange of this routine earthquake and start to change things we originaly wouldn't, gradualy and incorporating to the current scenario all the valid experience gathered with the time, and speeding up as soon as everybody feels confortable with the new stuff. A country's description, the way certain information is given, etc. I've been conducting all sorts of experiments in that matter for a couple time now, and I can say that much can be done already without actualy touching the vitals.

While I can understand your point of view, Feila has been the joint effort of hundreds of users for over three years. That's a lot of hard work, and we really don't have the time or the energy to start from scratch. It would be extremely detrimental to the continued existence of the forum and the morale of the userbase if we lessened our strong efforts at restoration. Besides, I very much liked the forum the way it was, and very much want to return it to that original state as much as possible.
